SUCI (Communist) strongly protests the price hike of commercial gas & life saving drugs
Strongly protesting the decision of the central govt. to hike the prices of commercial cooking gas & life-saving drugs, Shri Provash Ghosh General Secretary of SUCI Communist has issued the following statement on 2 April 2026. “The central BJP govt. instead of protecting the people of the country from continuous price hike of the essential items has again in a gap of only 25 days raised the prices of commercial petroleum gas cylinder of 19 kg. by Rs.218. The market price now is Rs.2208 from 1st April. Before this, only 25 days ago the BJP govt. had raised the price of domestic LPG cylinder by Rs.60 and commercial cylinder by 114.50. Above all these, the government has also raised the prices of 700-900 drugs which would hard hit the suffering people. When the common people are reeling under the burden of price hike of almost all daily essential commodities this increase will hurt them further. This again exposes the anti-people character of the BJP government. We call upon the people to come forward and raise their voice of protest in order to compel the govt. to withdraw this price hike.”
